Pause Coffee Lab

Coffee shops are the community hubs of the Pacific Northwest. For Pause Coffee Lab in Gresham, the design objective was to create a space that felt open, welcoming, and conducive to connection. This commercial Tenant Improvement (TI) project involved transforming a shell space into a fully operational food service environment.
The layout was driven by the "barista flow"—ensuring that the workspace behind the counter allowed for efficient service during peak hours while fostering interaction with customers. We utilized durable, honest materials to create an aesthetic that is both modern and warm, inviting patrons to stay and work or socialize.
Navigating the health code requirements and permitting processes for food service establishments is a core strength of Cascade Studio. We delivered a code-compliant design that maximized the budget to create a high-impact interior for this local small business.
